$64K Question 1969 Plymouth Road Runner Hemi Build

$ 64k Question: 1969 Plymouth Road Runner Hemi Build This 1969 Plymouth Road Runner (chassis RM23H9G235277) started life as a Light Green Metallic 383 car but has been rebuilt with a 472 Hemi crate motor and 4-speed. The paint, new motor, and a few other details deviate from a perfectly period-correct build, but the car is so clean and well-judged as a whole that we’re not bothered—besides, if this thing was running an original Hemi it’d be deep into six figures for a largely identical driving experience. Find it here on eBay in St. George, Utah for $64k OBO. The ad is a tad heavy on cheesy dealer hype, but when the details are separated from fluff the car sounds like a properly built ...

Origins [ edit ] The Plymouth automobile was introduced on July 7, 1928. It was Chrysler Corporation’s first entry in the low-priced field, which at the time was already dominated by Chevrolet and Ford. Plymouths were actually priced slightly higher than their competition, but offered all standard features such as internal expanding hydraulic brakes that the competition did not provide. Plymouths were originally sold exclusively through Chrysler dealerships. The logo featured a rear view of the ship Mayflower which landed at Plymouth Rock. However, the Plymouth brand name came from Plymouth Binder Twine . chosen by Joe Frazer for its popularity among farmers. [ 1 ] (Plymouth Binder Twine ...

Plymouth Satellite Series 1 Plymouth Satellite Series 1 Reviewed by Unique Cars and Parts Our Rating: 3 Introduction When a new, larger Plymouth Fury was introduced for 1965 on Chrysler’s full-size C platform, the Plymouth Belvedere name was moved to Plymouth’s new mid-size line which was really a continuation of Plymouth’s full-size 1962 –1964 models. The Belvedere Satellite was the top trim model in the series, above the Belvedere I and II. It was only available as a two-door hardtop or convertible. Offered with bucket seats and center console as standard, the Satellite was available exclusively with V8 engines. For 1965, the standard engine was the 273 c.i.d. and ...

Warren’s previously owned lineup points to his odd predilection toward working both ends of the Mopar vehicle body spectrum. Warren’s latest build continued his infatuation with law enforcement. After he learned the state of New Mexico ordered 25 two-door law enforcementûpackage Plymouth Fury I’s back in 1967, the search commenced. Warren wanted what he calls a long-distance car, and he went ...

Mike Chancey’s Electric Car

My Old Electric Car This is my old electric car, which I sold July 17, 1999. I thought the page might still be of interest, so I left it up. 1980 Jet Electrica 007 Coupe Hi, my name is Mike Chancey. This is my first Web page, so here goes nothing. If you want to see the pictures first, take The Grand Tour . This page is dedicated to my electric car, a 1980 Jet Electrica 007 Coupe. It was built by a company called Jet Industries from a glider, (an engine less car) a Plymouth Horizon supplied by Chrysler. It was built as part of a government test program with a utility company in Ohio. I don’t know how, but after the test was over the car ended up in Iowa. A friend of mine ran across ...

Car of the Week 1958 Plymouth Fury Old Cars Weekly

Car of the Week: 1958 Plymouth Fury admin | September 2, 2009 1958 marked the third model year for Plymouth’s top-of-the-line performance model, the Fury two-door hardtop. It was the first of the then traditional gold-trimmed Buckskin Beige speedsters to come out with the rest of the lineup at the start of the model year and the last to be a single model with its status unquestioned. The 1956 Fury and the totally redesigned 1957 offering took giant steps in establishing the Plymouth name in performance circles. Even though the domestic manufacturers banded together in 1957 to cut back on racing and performance promotion, the ’58s were well along in the plans and too late to ...

Car of the Week 1964 Plymouth Fury convertible

Car of the Week: 1964 Plymouth Fury convertible By Brian Earnest Ray Diedrick is a pretty laid back kind of guy. So when he decided to tackle his first convertible project and breathe some life into an old, worn-out ragtop, he didn’t get too nervous or worried. He figured he eventually needed to have a convertible project on his resume, and a topless car in his garage, and in 2008 he decided the time had come. The subject turned out to be a solid but tired 1964 Plymouth Fury convertible, and the way the car eventually turned out, you’d think Diedrick was a professional specializing in Chrysler convertibles. “I was just looking for an old Mopar — something to work on, and I knew ...

HowStuffWorks «1950 1951 1952 1953 Plymouths»

1950, 1951, 1952, 1953 Plymouths As continuations of the new ’49s, the 1950-54 Plymouths were well-engineered, solid, and reliable; but they were also squarish, stubby-looking, and none too fast. The ancient L-head six was raised to 97 bhp for ’49 and would remain there through 1952, after which it went to 100 bhp (probably by the … of an ad writer’s pen). Plymouths were still thrifty (20-23 mpg wasn’t uncommon), but hard-pressed to beat 90 mph. However, automatic electric choke and combined ignition/starter switch arrived as innovations for the low-priced field. The 1950 line was basically a ’49 reprise. An effective facelift brought a simpler square ...

19631965 Dodge Dart/ Plymouth Valiant DIY Electric Car Forums

1963-1965 Dodge Dart/ Plymouth Valiant 1963-1965 Dodge Dart/ Plymouth Valiant I am considering getting one of these for an EV conversion. A mid 60’s American car probably isn’t the normal donor car, but the specs of these don’t look that far from some of the vehicles converted on the web. The curb weight is around approx 2700 pounds on these, and I would look for a 3 speed column mount. The wheelbase on the Dart is 110, the Valiant 106. I can’t seem to find the GVWR anywhere on these cars. My dad had a Dart convertible when I was a kid, and I thought it would be a great project to perform with my sons. (They’re 8 and 6 now, so we have a lot of time to get ...
