At £35,530 our DS5 was at the very top end of the Options included the White/Black leather interior at £1,090, on the pearlescent white paintwork, and on the safe signature pack, includes Auto high and lane departure warning.

The DS5 is there’s no other word to it. It’s as if it has jumped straight out of a car book. Even though a big car, from any angle its dead gorgeous.

Large with built in LED running sit at the outer edges of the DS5’s the same shape is mimicked in the bumper with large C air intakes. A floating gloss grille holds the Citroen One thing you’ll notice away are the large chrome that run from the cars along the headlights, and up to the front glass.

They are a very different, features, but they work

A low swooping roofline gives the car an estate like look, at the it really pulls down the boot lid, making the of the car low, squat and wide. Two surrounds look like exhausts, surrounded by more black trim.

There is else like it on the road, its French style and it looks good!

If you opt for the Hybrid4 engine you get a BiK of 10%, making it a great car option. Emitting only of CO2 you also get away with no tax, a pretty good there!

However…we aren’t keen on Hyrbid4, its very driving around in silence you’re in ZEV mode. But pulling in Auto mode is just and frustrating, it slowly pushes you at what can only be described as pace. Doing this in of oncoming cars is rather

Put the DS5 into Sport mode and solves the sluggish pull but then you have to put up with the automatic gearbox making you forward or backward in your The best way to drive any Hybrid4 vehicle is to put it in Sport, and whack the in Manual. It’s still under hard acceleration, but at you’re in control.

Due to this we returned 36 MPG over 150 town exactly half Citroens 72.4 Urban MPG figure.

no lack of power with the we can’t fault it in that Any less than 200 BHP and the DS5 would sluggish, you probably need the of a diesel too; even they offer a Petrol THP 200

Ride is pretty hard in the on normal roads you do feel pothole and bump. It’s the of car that is meant to soak up all the imperfections, you should glide them unknowingly. The ride when on a motorway, but it’s a little too hard for our liking.

is accurate and nicely weighted, if the steering wheel is rather Under heavy breaking the DS5 flat, but you notice the cars when even the ESP can’t black lines appearing on the

Inside the DS5 is again, stunning. The have based the interior on an cockpit, metal effect frames well laid out switches. Look up and you’ll see two canopy type glass panels, in between them yet more switches that the heads up display and the roof

You really feel like in Top Gun…and that’s before you the car on and see the dials!

Quality is very soft plastics and brushed make up the wraparound centre Minimalist, slim line keep it looking neat and One thing that should be though are the clear plastics on the clock and temperature dials; only 6500 miles the in our test car where scratched belief, some sort of film protection wouldn’t go

Infotainment menus are well out and clear, sound is pretty too, but we would opt for the premium 10 Denon set up for better clarity and

Now we have to mention the ‘watchstrap’ they are a work of art. in two tone fine grain leather they give the an air of luxury, and they are unlike any we have ever seen.

legroom is a bit of an issue…with the seat forward for an average driver you a few centimetres of room for both legs and feet. It’s a cramped, headroom is better but is the type of car you should be able to out in on long journeys. In all honesty 508 RXH, and even the normal 508 far more legroom in a similar car!

Others have mentioned visibility being an issue, I it perfectly fine. There’s of glass at the back so reversing a spots weren’t really a

Boot space is ok at 325 litres, it is 465, but the underfloor batteries up a fair amount of room. You just about get an average suitcase in without removing the shelf.

So even with the Hybrid4, firm ride and than average boot would we buy one? Most yes!

On looks and style id live with the ride and boot. I’d much rather around in something that say ‘Wow, what is that?’ a boxy, generic German saloon.

Interior quality and the attention to are faultless, the DS5 is easily on par with its on that front. I really it will still look and get admiring looks in 10 years’ It’s a future classic for
