The Story

the Results

These test leave little doubt the Honda Civic (hybrid or no) excellent fuel economy. when driven hard, I was able to pretty much EPA ratings across-the-board. My experience has been that the more a vehicle is, the less adversely its economy is affected by aggressive habits. Conversely, economy respond better to eco-driving than their large, efficient counterparts.

What gives here? It to me that the engine-only EX is more influenced by easy driving/light techniques in combined roadway where the engine could/would be taxed during frequent On the highway, a steady throttle can do so much.

On the other hand, on roadways in the hybrid, the electric mitigates some of the driver’s for easing load on the engine hybrid system does it But on the open highway, the combination of the cylinder deactivation and steady motor assist allows the to work with minimal use.

So, Is the Hybrid Civic Worth It?
