Galimoto Media visited the show on most of the media days; unfortunately we had to return to the office prematurely but we photographed every shiny new car we could spot. Please visit our Facebook page for our very own 260+ photo gallery, or click on the images below for bigger versions.

Not every manufacturer is represented at this year’s JIMS and we missed a few of them due to a pesky return flight. Nonetheless, here is a summary of all the information and photographs we were assaulted with. Assaulted in a good way.

A motoring mecca sort of good way.

Audi’s stand was one of the biggest and most impressive of the show, containing no less than seven cars for you to drool over. Actually, please don’t. Among these were the RS7 Sportback with a hefty 412kw / 700Nm under its sleek and white body as well as the new A3 sedan due to be launched early next year.

A left-hand-drive RS Q3 in gleaming red with white sports seat shows you what to expect when the 228kW compact SUV arrives here in January 2014. The popular S3 Sportback with a 206kW / 380Nm 2.0 TFSi engine should still make its appearance this year.

An A8 L W12 Security in its own enclosure demonstrated that Audi can also do VIP armoured cars right up to VR 7 ballistic protection standard which can even fend off a hand grenade. Nestled in the middle of Audi’s stand, the R8 V10 Plus (404kW / 540Nm) surely grabs the most attention from visitors.

The third-generation RS4 Avant (331kW) stands in close proximity to a black-on-red RS5 Cabriolet (also 331kW) and S6 – this will feature a fully customised interior to mark the launch of “Audi exclusive” to the South African market in 2014.
