Lexus Hybrid Drive

As the full hybrid drive technology recognized by the industry, Lexus hybrid drive perfectly combines fuel with electricity, allowing surging power spurt in quietness. When such an outstanding technology is combined with LEXUS flagship car model LS600hL, what you are driving will not only be a powerful and quiet car, but also control the time development trend.

V8 Engine of 5.0 L

Beyond the restrictions of technology and precision engineering, LEXUS developed a 5.0 L direct injection V8 DOHC 32 valve engine. Among them, the innovative D-4S (direct injection 4 … upgraded edition) fuel system improves the dynamic performance and fuel economy of the car. Dual variable valve timing with intelligence, supported by the inlet valve of motor drive (VVT-iE), makes the valve’s opening time more precise. VVT-iE is closely coordinated with a hydraulic controlled two-way exhaust system to ensure excellent starting performance and high power output performance of the engine.

After the completion of the engine assembly, experienced technicians will check carefully to ensure the high manufacturing standards of Lexus is put into effect.

LS600hL power system uses two motors/generators, MG1 and MG2. They have different functions, but can act as a generator and a motor. Between them, MG1 is used as a motor for starting and does not provide forward momentum. As the generators is driven by the engine, MG1 is not only used for battery charging, but can also provide additional power for driving motor MG2 whatever the specific needs may be.

The motor with high output realizes almost silent and instantaneous acceleration from stagnation to maximum torque, acting as the auxiliary power for the engine.

Nickel Metal Hydride Batteries

DC ni-mh batteries are charged by the gasoline engine and energy recovery of car brake and speed reduction, and external charging is not necessary. In addition, the high-efficiency cooling system can greatly enhance work efficiency of the batteries and save fuel. The batteries are equipped with a metal mask, which effectively protects the passengers from the influence of electromagnetic fields.

The batteries with a compact structure are installed in the rear of the car, which does not affect the space of the seat cabin and the trunk cabin. Meanwhile, the battery monitoring system keeps the voltage, current and temperature at a level state, which can effectively extends the service life of the battery.

Power Control Unit

Power Control Unit is like the brain of the hybrid drive system, which continuously monitors the driver’s intentions and driving conditions, and judges the power output distribution of the engine and the motor in order to achieve an optimized power output mode.

Electronically controlled Continuously Variable Transmission (E-CVT) System

The E-CVT (Electronically controlled Continuously Variable Transmission) reduces energy loss, and contributes to high fuel efficiency. Through its AI-shift Control, it allows the combination of both petrol engine and electric motor to be carefully chosen to ensure optimal fuel efficiency as well as responsive acceleration.
