Lincoln MKZ Hybrid

Promoted by Lincoln as the most fuel-efficient luxury car in the United States, the 2012 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid is one part of a growing class and trend in the automotive industry. The vehicle rated at 41 miles per gallon (MPG) on the highway, and is part of an emerging group of vehicle from dozens of makers and manufacturers that are trending toward a more environmentally friendly future.

Like similar sedans and luxury vehicles, the 2012 Lincoln MKZ hybrid is taking advantage of emerging 21st century technologies to make a car that is light, more efficient, more effective and less reliant on natural fuels and gasoline.

This hybrid is the top of the line hybrid from Lincoln that can drive as much as 717.5 miles with one tank of gas in the city, and features a vehicle mode speed higher than that of similar cars from other luxury manufacturers like Lexus. Advertised as over 50% more fuel-efficient competing cars, the MKZ average six mpg more on the highway than Lexus’ similar HS250. The car also boasts a top speed of around 47 mph, which is more than 20 mph faster than the HS250 — the car that the MKZ hybrid is most frequently compared to.

As a standard luxury vehicle, the Lincoln MKZ hybrid offers leather trimmed seating and front power seats with a memory driver’s seat setting. With heated and cooled front seats, the inside is complimented with genuine wood trim and a SmartGuage within the driver’s side dashboard that has an EcoGuide cluster and environmentally friendly gauges that will sync up with the car’s electric and gas-fueled features.

Safety features include a personal safety system with a number of interior airbags, a reverse sensing system that offers alerts when the rear of the car is obstructed by any impediment. Other safety features include a SecuriCode keyless entry system and the MyKey technology that allows you to start the vehicle without inserting and turning your cut key. An easy fuel system and integrated blind spot mirrors round out the menagerie of luxury and safety features offered standard on the 2012 Lincoln MKZ hybrid.

The interior luxury features include a number of eco-conscious choices, as well as a sync system that owners linked up with a Microsoft-based system that controls the media that can be played in the MKZ. The interior offer nine cubic feet of space more than the Lexus HS250, as well as the most space for a vehicle in its class. The interior is trimmed in leather and offers genuine wood trim and swirl or olive ash features — both taken from environmentally controlled forests around the world.

The sync system is popular among the technologically savvy, and offers a Bluetooh-enabled phone system, command and selection playlist capabilities, an MP3 player and thumb drive, traffic alerts, personalized news, weather reports and the latest sports scores. These features combine to make the Lincoln MKZ hybrid a vehicle that competes with the tops in its class, and one that is both technologically equipped and safe for the environment.
