Renault Press Conference 2013. looking forward with style to the Brussels Salon 2014.

For its annual Press Conference, Renault chose this year also the elegant premises of Smets Bowery, with the yellow geometric structure reminiscent of the Renault logo.

Renault is revamping its range in grand style, and looks back to a good year, both for Renault and Dacia. They invited us also again to the elegant premises of Smets-Bowery on the Leuvensesteenweg in Brussels .

This place not only has an outstanding restaurant which is also a feast to mouth and eye, but you can also purchase design furniture and clothing.

One cannot think of a more fitting venue to present what Renaut and Dacia will bring to the Brussels Salon…with panache and style!

Jean-Paul Renaux, Director General of Renault Belgique Luxembourg. (see photo above) looked back on and commented on the achievements this year. First and foremost, Renault earned very high marks on quality: The Renault Twingo and Scénic achieved a two star rating in the ADAC rankings, and in the top 100 reliability score put up by L’Automobile, Mégane and Twingo reached first place, with Laguna and Laguna Coupé and Scenic coming second.

In the reliability rankings for used cars put up by Auto Plus, Dacia achieved second place!

Compared to last year, the share of retail market in the total turnover rose from 50 to 52 %, whilst the fleet market share dropped correspondingly from 50 to 48%.

Karl Schuybroek, Director Communication, commented on the Renault presence on the Brussels Salon.

With retail and fleet combined, Renault achieved a Belgian market share of 9,3 %, with Dacia reaching a very creditable 3,4 %. Taking into account retail sales only, Renault increased its market share over the year from 7,25 to 7,56 %.

In the commercial vehicles segment, Renault remained leader in the Belgian market with a market share of not less than 15,6 %. Dacia. with only its recently introduced Dokker, already reaches a market share of 1,8 %. Looking at the retail segment, Dacia reaches a Belgian market share of 5,15 %.

The concept Car Initiale Pari will steal the show in Brussels.

Renault at the Brussels Salon…

Renault will present at “our” show the “Initiale Paris”, the sixth concept car designed by Laurens van den Acker.

This concept car is of course a harbinger of the new Espace, but now in a luxurious “Initiale Paris” version.

Interior styling elements include a roof lining which is reminiscent of the Paris street plan, and lights up beautifully at night in an ambiente which is so typically Parisian. See the photo above.

The new Mégane family already made its début on the Frankfurt show, but on the Brussels Salon the new Mégane Coupé-Convertible will be presented for the first time to the public.

In March, 15 other countries will follow, notably France. Germany. Australia. etc.

On this Coupé-Convertible, the integrated online multimedia system R-Link is also to be found. To manage the system, one can use the 18 cm large touch screen, together with the multidirectional joystick on the centre console.

In following reports, we will tell you more about this elegant Mégane Coupé Convertible, and the remarkably stylish concept cars of the marque with the typical lozenge.

Renault is of course making every effort to present electric mobility to the public. It is the only manufacturer which has brought not less than four affordable electric cars to the market in the last 18 months. The Zoé (see photo above) is the compact city car for a large public, the Fluence Z.E. is a four door upmarket passenger car, the Kangoo Z.E. is meant for professional use, and last but not least the Twizy aims at trendy city dwellers.

On the Brussels Salon, the Twizy Cargo makes its Belgian début.

“If not pleased, you can just trade it in…”

In January, Renault launches for its Zoé a unique exchange offer: when a client is not pleased with its Zoé purchase after 9 months, he can exchange the car for a Renault with a thermal engine…

The Zoé is in effect financed for 60 months. After payment of an initial 5000 Euro and the purchase of a wallbox (950 Euro) the client pays a monthly instalment of 399 Euros, which also covers the rental of the battery. When the client later chooses for a Renault with a thermal engine, the initial down payment is subtracted from the purchase price of the new car. The eventual new financing scheme is calculated in function of the model chosen…

Dacia will seduce visitors in Palace 5 of the Brussels Salon with the new Logan MCV which is now introduced with a fully fledged station wagon version, and the facelifted Dacia Duster.

The Dacia MCV is now available in a fully fledged station wagon version.

Needless to say that these cars will be driven for you in the coming weeks and months…
