Roadshow: Move over, Readers talk up Tesla and electric cars

Q Now that the has become the best-selling car in California, and since the standard version is no allowed in the carpool lane, I it’s time for Mr. Roadshow to get new wheels.

Q I would propose an car. It has to be something that is in the HOV lane. I’ll bet that get the flaming emails rolling I would spot you the down for a Tesla S, but I’m a little on cash this week.

Maybe a Leaf or Volt do.

A Roadshow and I do miss those stickers. But our trusted Prius is going strong at 111,000 and we are not ready to take the electric-car or plunge — unless you good on the down payment!

But readers are ready to do it.

Q It seems are many misconceptions out there electric vehicles, so I say, over, Prius. Time for Smart talk.

My husband has wanted to buy a Tesla and ponied up his deposit to get in line for one. when his turn finally we had to ask ourselves if we could really spending close to $70,000 for a car to around town.

I had been looking for a green to replace my 1998 BMW hatchback and across the new 2013 electric Smart car. Now that the are grown, we thought, Why not get a 2-person car for around town? So I put my $500 in February and waited for the August of my new car.

A Six later.

Q I could not be more and I am amazed more people scrambling for this car. The ED is all electric, goes about 78 to a charge and can be plugged into home 110-volt outlet.

shows that most car are within 25 miles of home and only one driver, so why isn’t buying a Smart ED as their or secondary car? With a list price, it cost us $15,000 after state and rebates. With the money we not buying gas, (not to lower insurance rates and all oil changes, smog checks, repairs and tuneups) the car will pay for in a few years.

Another important consideration was the roomy seating for two people. It is the electric car, other the Tesla, that comfortably my husband’s tall frame. It is fun to drive with a retro red and a turbo boost when it easily goes 65 to 70 on the highway and you get coveted carpool lane to boot!

For those wondering why I would put at risk driving such a car, check out the safety at safercar.gov. The 2013 Smart car has the safety ratings as the 2014 and most other small (4 stars front, 5 stars So, why am I not seeing Smart EVs all over

Please shed some oh, Mr. Roadshow!
